Logo-Engraved Client Gifts: A Buyer's Guide
By the Naked Wood Works shop, Pryor, Oklahoma · September 2026
A good logo-engraved client gift is something people use at home, with your logo placed small enough that they are glad to keep it out. We make logo cutting boards and ornaments from solid wood, laser engraved to order in Pryor, Oklahoma, and this guide covers choosing an item, preparing your logo file and planning around lead times.
Why an engraved wood gift works for clients
Most corporate gifts are branded giveaways: pens, tumblers, tote bags. They get used, but no one thinks of them as a gift. An engraved wood piece reads differently. It is heavier, it lasts, and it tends to end up in the kitchen or on a shelf rather than in a drawer. Your name stays in the house for years.
Choosing the item
Cutting boards are the most substantial choice. They suit key clients, referral partners and year-end thank-yous. Boards start from $29.70.
- The Custom Logo Cutting Board puts your logo large and centered, with room for a tagline.
- The Corner Logo Client Gift Board places the logo small in one corner of a walnut board. It looks like a nice board first and a branded item second, because it looks like a nice board first and a branded item second.
- The Full Logo Cutting Board runs the logo edge to edge. It suits restaurants, breweries and brands that want a display piece.
Ornaments are the lighter option for long lists. The Custom Logo Ornament is a round wood ornament with your logo, from $16.60, in a single or a set of 2, 5 or 10. It comes back out every December.
Employee gifts work the same way. The Employee Appreciation Logo Board is a logo board employees take home. The Years of Service Appreciation Board adds the employee’s name, a line of thanks and their years with you, which makes it a good fit for anniversaries and retirements. Preparing your logo file
The single biggest factor in how a logo engraves is the file you send. You can upload your logo directly on our logo products.
- Vector is best. SVG, AI, EPS or a PDF saved from a design program keeps lines sharp at any size. If a designer made your logo, ask them for the vector version.
- A high-resolution image works. If you only have a PNG or JPG, send the largest, cleanest version you have. A logo pulled from a website header or an email signature is usually too small.
- Simple shapes engrave best. Bold lines, solid shapes and clear text come out crisp. Very thin lines, tiny text and fine detail can blur or fill in, especially at small sizes.
- Think in one color. Laser engraving produces one tone. Gradients, shadows and photos do not translate directly. A one-color or black version of your logo is the right starting point.
- Mind the small print. Taglines and phone numbers get small quickly. If they are under the logo, consider whether they need to be there.
We flag anything that may not engrave cleanly on the free digital proof, so you see the issue before we engrave, not after.
Maple or walnut for a logo
Maple is light, and a logo engraves dark and high-contrast on it, which suits detailed marks. Walnut is dark and the engraving reads quieter, which suits simple logos and a more formal look. Our maple vs. walnut guide explains the differences. Board sizes are 8x12 in and 10x14 in at 0.75 in thick, 12x16 in at 1.5 in thick, and 16x24 in walnut at 1.5 in thick.
Lead times and planning
Each order is made to order in 3-5 business days, and shipping time comes on top of that. For corporate gifting, plan around the calendar:
- Holidays: order well ahead of December. Leave time for internal sign-off on the proof, which often takes longer than the engraving.
- Name lists: finalize spellings before you order. Every name you add later is a new round of proofs.
- Hand-delivery: if you plan to deliver gifts in person, ship to your office and build in a few days to sort and label them.
- Tight deadlines: ask us about rush.
Larger orders
If you are ordering for a full client list or a whole team, ask us about larger orders. Tell us the item, the quantity and your date. Add-ons like a handwritten card and paper gift wrap are available on boards if you want each one ready to hand over.
